Lyra is a passive item introduced in Volume 1.
Effects
- Causes Spirit Orbs to spawn more often.
- Room clear rewards have a 10% chance of being replaced with a Spirit Orb.
- Breaking tinted rocks has a 33% chance of spawning an extra Spirit Orb.
- Destroying slots and beggars has a 33% chance of spawning an extra Spirit Orb.
- Opening a chest has a 33% chance of spawning an extra Spirit Orb.
- Using a Spirit Orb starts a short rhythm minigame. Completing it successfully causes the effect of the spirit orb to be more powerful. Failing the minigame causes the effect to activate as normal.
Interactions
- Contract from Below: Spirit orbs spawned as room clear rewards can be duplicated.
- Spirit of Druidity: Vines last twice as long and drop 2 fruit hearts if the enemy is killed.
- Spirit of Conductivity: Effect lasts twice as long and the range is increased, both for the regular waves and the slot short circuit effect.
- Spirit of Inferno: Shoots twice the amount of flames and the effects lasts 50% longer.
- Spirit of Clairvoyance: Effect lasts twice as long and projectiles are reflected twice as often.
- Spirit of Revenance: Doubles the number of spawned graves.
- Spirit of Virulence: The poison cloud becomes twice as big.
- Spirit of Salvation: Doubles the number of light beams, shooting 16 instead of 8.
- Spirit of Sacrilege: After slashing all enemies once, it slashes through them a second time.
- Spirit of Deluge: Doubles the duration of the effect.
- Spirit of Terrastrium: Doubles the number of spawned stalagmites.
- Spirit of Chaos: The chosen effect has its effects duplicated.
Trivia
- Lyra is based on the actual constellation of Lyra which represents a lyre, a string instrument used in ancient cultures.
- Lyra was originally gonna be called lyrius.
- Each different rhythm minigame was going to have a different jingle, however this was cut due to time constraints.
