Mirror Key is an active item introduced in Volume 1.
Effects
- On use creates a temporary mirror door that leads to a mirror version of the current room. This mirrored version follows similar rules to the mirror dimension in downpour, entering it puts the players into lost form and it regenerates most pickups, except for item pedestals and shop items.
- While held, shows blue outlines in doors it can be used in, similarly to the red key.
- The Mirror Key can only be used once per room. While in a room where the key can't be used its sprite changes, making the purple gem paler.
Notes
- If used in a boss room, the boss can be fought again for an extra reward. This will also play a new custom song.
- If a door appears below a mirror door it'll break it, playing a glass breaking sound and removing the door. This can happen if the red key is used on a spot already occupied by a mirror door or if it's used in a boss room before the deal spawns.
- The Mirror Key can only be used in rooms inside the map. It can't be used in rooms like the Devil room or the Error room.
- If a shop has a restock machine, or one is spawned, it will be able to spawn shop items, allowing Isaac to purchase pickups in the mirrored version of the shop.

Birthright: The Damage boost from Birthright will also apply in the mirrored room. - Downpour/Dross II: If used in a floor with a mirror dimension the mirror door will take the player to the mirror dimension, instead of a separated mirror version of the room.
